I don't recall the specific scene you're describing, but Stu Basore is prominent in that film. RR |

Thanks folks ! He does some soulful fills in all those songs and the tone was great, nice to know the name after all these years. |

Shaun, if you get a chance go back and watch the "live" show scene on the riverboat- Stu is playing these beautiful, perfect fills and licks all through the song, and then blows the last harmonic chime in the outro, cussing on camera. It's a truly beautiful steel cinema moment. What a great flick all around! |

As I recall Lloyd Green was in the studio shot as well. And Doug Jernigan was in a scene shot in some club. |

Lloyd told me a story about that opening studio scene he was in. (and Jeff Newman on Banjo) The dialogue is something like, the artist (played by Henry Gibson) berates the piano man, named "frog", saying "You play like a Frog". Lloyd says at a lunch break he told the film producers about the A-Team Piano-man Hargus "Pig" Robbins. That somehow led to having a the film pianist named "Frog". I hope I have the story right, it's been a while. |

Weldon was in there too. He took a great solo behind Henry Gibson in an Opry scene. He mentioned him by name, but I don't remember whether Weldon was on camera or not. |
