Recently while recording the West Coast Christmas CD, I recorded this song as a Christmas present for Ralph. Red Kilby has done a fine job with the vocals. You are welcome to add your best wishes to this post, and I'll print it all out and present it to him along with a CD of the song sometime during the first week in December. I'm sure you agree that "There's only one Mister Moon". [This message was edited by Mike Headrick on 09 December 2005 at 08:45 AM.] |

A very Merry Christmas to you my friend. You are sure one fantastic Steeler. I still enjoy the fancy playing (west coast style) on the Album "Buck Owens" issued in the late '60's. I want so much to learn the song "Nobody's Fool But Your's". I listen to the Intro, fills and Steel Solo, quite often. One of these days! One of these days Ralph. You just wait and see! Ralph, my best wishes to you. Your friend, [This message was edited by Gregg Thacker on 27 November 2005 at 10:17 PM.] |

Ralph Mooney is the reason I play steel guitar. When I heard "Under Your Spell Again" and "Under The Influence Of Love" back in the fifties and sixties, I was hooked. I can't thank him enough for his inspiring recordings. [This message was edited by Andy Greatrix on 11 November 2005 at 12:00 PM.] |

From one of his many admirers from afar . . . Thanks, Ralph for developing your unique sound and technique and being an influence to so many, many others. I'm aware that Ralph would probably downplay such accolades, but he is surely a major reason why so many of us were attracted to the instrument in the first place. Very Best Wishes – and thank you for starting this thread, Mike. |

Mr. Mooney I have to apoligize to ya, in high school I was giving Tom Brumley credit for your work. It wasn't until a few years later I learned it was you who did the work on those early Buck Owens' tunes. I'm now putting forth much effort to correct the error of my ways Merry Christmas. Oh, and by the way, thanks for "I'll go Back to Her"... It's a thing of beauty!!! [This message was edited by Ray Minich on 26 November 2005 at 08:09 AM.] |
