Just released, this 12 track CD (plus a bonus track) features songs recorded by Merle, Buck, & Wynn. I've tried to retain the original flavor of the original track on most of the cuts. Moon plays with me on three songs, and on others I alternately play an Emmons and a Fender 800, keeping a balance between my own style and the Mooney style. You'll get the picture by clicking the sound samples. Live studio band: light drums, piano, bass, acoustic rhythm, fiddles, electric guitars, round neck resophonic. The songs are: And a bonus track = "MR, MOON" (this is a tribute to Ralph with Red Kilby doing a fine job singing it) Here are six sound samples Streets Of bakersfield |

Here's an interesting twist. The Fender 800 I used on this CD was just sold to Josh Grange, who plays with Dwight Yokum. The guitar will be used on the Buck Owens tribute Dwight plans to record. I feel like I have sacraficed my best ram. |

Lots of CDs going out, but not many replies to the posts. I'm getting nervous! I could use a few bumps, and I'm not talking about Chicken Pox. |

What a GREAT CD!!!! If you like that classic 60's sound of a Fender 800, you will love this CD, and it has MOON on it too!!!!!! How can you go wrong???? Mike really outdid himself on this one, and I was so pleased and honored that he would ask me to do the vocals on "MR.MOON" it is a really cool song that honors this legend of the the steel guitar, Ralph Mooney!!!!! Do yourself a favor, and buy one of these CD's from Mike today, I promise you will love it!!!!!!! Hope to see you all next month???? >>>, for the Oct. 15th Steel Show in Waltham, Mass. Thanks, Red! Having your vocal on Mr. Moon really made it the tribute I meant for it to be. We both share a passion for Ralph's playing. I want to get as much of him recorded as I can. He's a national treasure! |

Mike, this CD is absolutely superb!!!! Wonderful Job by you and Mr. Moon. I hope I don't wear it out by the end of the Holidays. Guys, if you like the Bakersfield style and sound then this is a "Gotta Have". This a refreshing take on Christmas music and Mike sure has a winner here. Also; the Tracks CD is excellent as well. Great stuff Mike. What's the history behind "It's A Beautiful Day"? I don't believe I've heard it before. Or, at my age, I just don't remember that I did. Thanks, |

Jim, Wynn did it and I think it was one of his more popular songs. I believe it was a follow-up to "It's Such A Pretty World Today" |

David, Though you may not have received them, I answered your emails promptly and the replacement CDs were mailed days ago. I think we've spoken by phone since then. If you see this and there's still a problem, please call my daytime number at 423-942-0030. I've been moving my businesses to another location, so my head is not as clear as it should be right now, but I'm quite sure the problem should be resolved by now. Got your email, Clive. Thanks, Jim. It was good to see you again in St. Louis. I've had several folks asking if I would be in Dallas. Yes, I am planning to be there and hope to have a new CD to release there. It'll be a Waylon tribute with Ol' Moon again. |
