Okay, so if the D-6 isn't officially called a Stringmaster, then what did Fender officially name it??

Inquiring minds want to know.

Rick,

As to your question to Jody regarding his Q-8 scale, a quick and easy way to check the scale on a stringmaster is this:

24.5" guitars have three block markers past the 24th fret, 22.5" guitars only have two block markers past the 24th fret.

Basically, if the guitar is tuned to E, a 22.5" fretboard stops at A, and a 24.5" fretboard stops at B.

26" scale fretboards go up to C#, with four block markers past the second octave, but they're easy enough to spot.

Chris should know......he's got 7 or more he's got to heard around the corral......with practice, you can tell which one is which by the marking's, just like whale watching, ya think??

Actually, this is especially good information when looking at picture's on E-bay.....TX

Ron

I had that beauty that Joey posted right here in my music room when he drove all the way from Ontario to Delaware to have his new born delivered..I knew from the moment Joey and myself plugged it in it was a killer. Joey I keep records,,that was 2 years ago come February 7th and Joey drove all that distance from Ontario to Delaware to Pa to spend the day with me and in a Snow Storm no less. Great memories, Great guitar, and a Great Guy JOEY ACE. Joey had me sign his seat. Thanks big guy for those memories, I will return when I get my self together,,stay in touch.

Well okay, now that Jody has resurrected this fabulous Fender Stringmaster thread from the dim distant past . . . .

Since then I found a couple more.

You lucky b@str@rds! Here in Norway they're impossible to come by (as far as I know), and the prices on eBay are frankly silly...

Oh well, I guess i'll have to make due with what I've got...
