Wow, that's a really great looking Stringmaster. Look's like circa 60's. Do you happen to know what year it is? And that finish is just terrific. TX

I guess the StringMaster is going to live on !!

OK !! howbout some input from you all on the the best
Amp to saddle up to the Monster StringMaster !!!

I have used a Fender Princeton reverb sense 63 / or
what ever year it first come out - and it has been
most reliable and the clean sound is what I like - If I need more
power I jump the ext. speaker - out - into a peeve bass amp - in -
and it will hammer it out there - but have not had to do that very
much for the old Princeton reverb has plenty punch .

Tell me about the new Fender Steel Master Amp !! any one
out there use one with a StringMaster ?

Rick,

You are too much....you got me on the floor with that one.....don't stink up the stringmaster.

Good question on AMP.

The Stringmaster D8 goes through a Hilton digital sustain, into the volume pedal, into an RV3, into the Fender concert Amp 4 10's....it's 40 watts but with the all tubes it's up to about 100W....plenty of power & Clean.

Yeah, like to know about the Stringmaster into a Steel King? Tx

Ron

I think I've stopped laughing long enough to post a serious reply to the amp question. The woman I bought my '54 Dual Pro from was using two amps when she retired in '64. The first was a '58 Champ for home practice and the gigging amp was a '58 Deluxe. A friend just got one of the new Custom Shop '57 Twin reissues in his shop. It sound fantastic with his '58 Strat and I'll bet it will sound even better with my Dual Pro. I think it's time to buy another lotto ticket.

That's right - Bob asked a serious question. I like to use 2 amps - 1 tube and 1 solid state. That way you get tube warmth and solid state clarity. A Music Man HD130 on the left and a Peavey Session 500 on the right is the usual these days, (but I'll try anything twice) . .

I use Boss DD6 and RV5 pedals (stereo in and out) to "stereo-ize" the verb & delay. I have an MXR Zak Wyllde Overdrive plugged into them first in case I wanna rock. The reason for these particular pedals is - no discernable signal loss and no noise (except the OD when it's on, but that gets drowned out) The result is huge, especially right in the "sweet spot", which ideally should be right behind the steel in the driver's seat!

And . . yarding those amps around will either make a man out of you or kill you - or possibly both . . .

Paul Newman!!! Wow, you sure know how to butter up a guy.

As far as amps go, I have an early silver face Twin Reverb that I got new in 1967. I ordered it with JBL D-120F speakers from the factory. You can't get much better than this with a Stringmaster!

Jack Black??? Who he? Is this dude under indictment by Special Counsel Ken Starr! I know, "I have the right to be silent".

Rick, I got another bone, fish or whatever to pick with you.

You and your big ideas, I went to practice my D8. The blasted thing tried to bite my right thumb off!!!! $#%#^# Got the pick instead!! Hmmmm, think I'll feed it the cat (my number 1 enemy).

Next thing you know, the old Stringmaster buzzard will be chasing me around the house on those shiny legs.

Great question Bob, soooo many ways to get to the Holy Grail (tone & clarity). Some good ideas there. More ideas to come...Wish there was a way to hear those various rigs for Stringmaster's...

Hmmm...Now let's see, who could play me?...Grover,Yoda,kazi-moto,Bobbe Seymour..Nahhh........TX

My 1950's 24&1/2" Ab6/BbMaj7/Eb13th Stringmaster goes into a standard Goodrich volume pedal and sometimes a Vox wah/H&K Tube Rotosphere and then to a fawn brown Marshall 4140 "Club And Country Combo" with 2 12" speakers and 100+ watts of clean tube power

Speaking of amps to use with a Stringmaster, has anybody tried the new Fender Vibroverb with the 15" speaker?
For the price the're asking (equivalent of 2 Stringmasters) it should sound incredible. I'm just a little bit skeptical when it comes to new production tube amps . .

It closed in '75.

I saw Iron Butterfly, David Bowie, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Grand Funk, Steely Dan and Johnny Winter ... there in the early '70s.

The Hollywood Sportatorium was big back then too ... for concerts.

Once the "old man" caught me sneakin' out ... well those days ended

Of course then ... a few years later, I discovered the Mai Kai ... phewww ... alot of good times in Broward Co.

No, it's 2X12" speakers and 40 watts (2 6L6 tubes). Did I say it sounds FAT? Also $2K.
