WOW! At last a steel er wood guitar that everyone can afford. Check out the Balsa wood model it only weighs a pound and a half. You can almost mail it to a gig.I'm told that Buddy Emmons has tried out the Prefessionil modul. (in his fireplace)The wood I'm also told is polish Pine well almost Pine it's laminated saw dust imported from Poland.Only thing it's not a C-6 0r E-9 it's a L#B flat minor. You don't need a tuner for it just pull until it sounds close and play the $hIt out of it. A very famous Instrument Manufactoring co. is looking to buy the product and put it's name on it..I'm told it's the Yugo corp. If you buy it you get the world famous yogo guaranty.. Your right Yugo $#@% yourself. Yugo!! my what will they think of next? ------------------ |

Hey, Fellows I noticed that 247 of us were "SUCKED IN" to check out Good ol' Smilys' place. Sometimes I feel like Sheep lead to the Slautter. Hell, I can't even spell SLAUTTER right. Danmd that Dr, BOBBY SEYMORE!!! And while I'm at it....We haven't heard from the Doc latley...He must be REAL BUSY with that New "FOXY LADY" that's working for him. Cool site, Smiley..you've got one hell of an imagination! |
|
Gene Jones Member From: Oklahoma City, OK USA |
Smiley........you might consider taking alternate bids from other suppliers such as Home Depot as a means of "cutting some of your production costs". That would help make this exquisitely crafted instrument available to many more players! www.genejones.com P.S. Would there be any additional cost if a buyer wanted his Name stenciled on the front of the DOMINO? [This message was edited by Gene Jones on 15 November 2002 at 05:11 AM.] |

Why are the legs so skinny??? and you notice they are very close to each other, sort of like,,,well you know. They seem as they know who will be sitting behind er. ![]() |

How much are you paying out to get rid of um.give me ten bucks and I'll take one, seller pays the shipping. ------------------ |

John P.Phillips Member From: Brunswick, Ga. U.S.A. |
Why Jody, anybody can see the construction of the legs makes it easier to play from either end. Sort of like playing it whether you're coming or going. ![]() BTW Smiley, I've got an idea for a revolutionary "Lightweight, Easily manouverable, Styrofoam bar" for ease of control and the mellowest tone possible. It also has what I call a "rubber-Klutz " band to eliminate bar droppage. !!!!!(no more bending over or searching) [This message was edited by John P.Phillips on 15 November 2002 at 05:35 AM.] |

Joe Casey Member From: Weeki Wachee .Springs FL (population.9) |
I just put my order in for a 9 1/2 string model It's a push sometimes and a pull most of the times..I wanted a radio shack pick up on mine and it will be on wheels also. Also I am having telescope spring loaded legs added and it's a left haded one way turn it around and it's a right handed the other.Plus I want my legs made out of 2" PVC. ------------------ |

I like it, Smiles! Ricky must be loosing sleep over the competition for his SS Hawaiian. It still needs a good effects pedal.

BOY!!!! what a breath of fresh air! After being deluged with all the new and advanced models with space age materials, new and improved E9th tunings and fretless models,I am totally awe-struck. With one manufacturer now offering a wooden model of the finest woods, I must admit I am spinning in my tracks. These new ideas have whipped my into such a frenzy that I have not been able to decide which way to go...the new and improved or the retro bodies of yesteryear. NOW IT IS CLEAR, thanks to Smiley. Smiley you have captured the very essence of the steel guitar. This model not only incorporates the new and improved but also captures the retro body of the past. This is a thing of beauty, from the natural pine to the space aged material used in the construction..i.e. nuts and bolts. You have obviously done your market research as it is afforablely price for every household. Even piano players and drummers can go for this baby. It is uncanny how you have used "everyday" materials to construct such a superb instrument...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, from all of us. Please keep up the good work |

Smiley....The words "wow" and "yikes" best describe my first impression of your still guitar which is undoubtedly on the cutting edge of steel guitar revolution. I know you must be very proud of your cremation. I'm totally in aw of the entire guitar which is most certainly a concept without a doubt. Best wishes in your new venture my snappy dressing long time dear friend, who plays his fanny off. To coin a phrase, "you have more talent in my little finger, than you've got in my whole body". |
|
Gene Jones Member From: Oklahoma City, OK USA |
To Smiley and/or Reece: Would you be interested in entering into an indorsement contract with me similar to the indorsements I have with other steel-guitar manufacturers who don't want my name associated in any way with their guitars... i.e., "This player is absolutely NOT playing a DOMINO" .....or "This player is absolutely NOT playing a Millennium", etc Let me know soon as my indorsements are in demand and my time is limited! Will you have a booth in at the Texas show? Just remember Yugo had a great Idea. Build cheap, sell cheap, run like crap (Good on gas tho?.and disapear into a new country.I was a proud owner of a Yugo GT.sports model. So I hope to be a proud Smiley owner..See if you can get Tommy White to play one on the Opry during the next willie and Porter show. Although I think there is a better chance to have "tied to a tiger released". Think Pilish. ![]() ------------------ |

SMILEY, is that the Johnny Cox Demo or a production instrument? Oops, that was stupid of me, of course it only has one neck! ![]() ~~W.C.~~ |

Smiley, I'll take two if they come equipped with the Mike Perlowin Sphincter Volume Control in the LARGE SIZE. Since I sprung the cash for a new Millennium, and my wife found out about it, only the LARGE SIZE will give me any relief from the terrible problem I'm having. I also want to bid on the contract for the cases. Keeping things cheap, it will come equipped with two long handles and only one wheel. Looks a hell of a lot like a wheel barrow. ------------------ |

Well Smiley...even if this is in a serious part of the forum....I suspect there may be a bit of a leg pull involved...even though I dont get it. This seems to be very like my first steel guitar....couldnt afford a real one....so I measured a friends who lent me a six string one for a couple of days.....another friend who was an antique restorer gave me a wonderful piece of timber which I lovingly shaped and sanded then sprayed bright metallic green from a spray can. I made it eight string....with two regular guitar pick-ups offset to catch all strings ....I bought pickups and tuning keys in a pawn shop....the rest of the hardware was off machines that I worked on....a plumber at the fire protection place my wife worked at welded nuts at an angle and threaded water pipe to make the legs. The fretboard was clear perspex with paper under neath with all the notes written on it.......it sort of worked untill I could get a secondhand pedal steel !...I gave it to my mate but I dont think he has seen the joke yet ! ![]() |
