Saturday night March 4th starting at 7pm Laney and Russ Hicks and band will be performing on the Elks lodge 2582's stage and spacious banqet room in Brooksville Fl. for a Dinner,SHOW and Dance. The Lodge is located on state road 50, 1/2 mile from the Suncoast Parkway in brooksville FL.. The show will be preceded by a Roast Beef and Chicken dinner at 6pm. When I first aproached the Elks about two years ago on having a Country show I ran into the regime from the North that never consided it. So we got our people elected and they said LETS GO.The show will be open to the public and I hope its a prelude to having Country nights bi weekly or monthly that will feature area country bands (traditional Country).I feel we were lucky to have Laney and Russ availible at this busy time with all the Steel shows picking up speed and with them heading for Texas the next day. I am hoping this can be the first of many Country nights with the support of the many area Country fans. The Lodge is a Smoke free enviorment, plenty of paved parking and with the elevated stage, plenty of visual for a great show. Russ and Laney will have their latest as well as their other CDs on sale. Hope to see ya'll.....

Myron ,It will be good to see you again. I was at the Elks sunday for the super bowl party and they had every table with flyers on it and there was quite a buzz about the show. I was asked already about a next show late summer possibly. There are three 40 footers already parked for the winter in the far end of the lot so yours will fit right in. Wear that 15 gallon hat of yours.

Laney and I are bringing a real 'All Star' band with us, featuring Bob Strickland on lead guitar, Jim Hartley (Del Reeves Band, G.O.O.) on drums, my two 'real life' brothers; Roger (Sonny James, Kitty Wells, G.O.O.)on piano, and David (Charlie McCoy Band, Hee Haw Band)on bass....we even have a couple 'surprises' dropping in, so I'm looking forward to being a part of a night of real Classic Country Music.
Ya'll come,
rh

E-mail ans to Ft. Myers..Anyone wishing to reserve tickets can E-mail me with info and I will see they are put aside and held for you. Because of the ever changing shifts and busy phone at the lodge I told them I would help out. This will be a country casual dress as you feel comfortable affair.

Spoke with Russ last evening (sorry Old Smiley and I woke him up) and everything looks super for the show. Laney and Russ will have all their latest recordings for sale with them and as Russ stated above look for some special guest. The ticket sales have reached the 100 mark and the add has not been put in the news paper yet. Our goal was for two hundred although we can seat up to 500 comfortably.I am told it will be in this weekend in the ST. Pete Times weekend and Tampa Tribune. The Elks have a fabulous reputation for their dinners. (this one Chicken or Prime rib served at 6 m)The club is a non smoking venue with an area provided outside for those who smoke. You can reserve your seats or even a whole table by calling 352-596-2582 I am hoping this will open up the Elks to having many more Country shows.

Well here we are 6 days to go. The Elks has reached almost three quarters of their ticket sale goal I'm informed. A couple of the members have been out there pushing and Russ recently did an interview for the Tampa Tribune that will be out there this week. There are suppose to be many true country lovers out there reaching them has been my goal. many thanks to the Ed McConnell band for volunteering to open for the show..Ed who is a Detective for the Brooksville Police dept also ran two very close campaigns for Hernado county Sheriff.Ed has been a Country entertainer for 20+years.
