Hi Jody; many years ago I was dealing with Fender (amplifier repairs) and kept hearing the word Jody Carver and one day someone gave me a photo of you with a Fender tripple neck.(bet that hat and shirt don't fit you now). At that time I had no interest in steel guitars, then in the 1970's I got into it and had not heard about Jody until I joined the forum. What a surprise it was to see the name Jody Carver again. It seems I have known you for years and hope some day we can meet.
I enjoy your input to the forum and I wish you and your wonderful family all the best.

Lorrie and Casey: Caleb was here again yesterday and I had to do a search to find the "Girls" he was asking about. Took me a second to figure out what he wanted but he was referring to the pictures on page one of this thread. I am glad he remembered you all but surely not surprised...

Regards, Paul

Mr.Van Allen
Thank You for reviving what I wrote a few years ago. I am happy that my dad has so many friends on this SGF.

He asked me to thank you most of all for all that you have done for him and that he was happy that on your visit to his and my moms home were able to spend a little time with Mrs.Van Allen and your son.

He appreciates your friendship and gives you the credit for having his Hot Club Of America
see the light of day once again and from my dad to you, Thank You so very much, our family
Thanks you as well.My dad said quote. Thank You All Of You.

Merry Christmas To All Of You.

Ben, you are a fine man and If I had a Christmas wish, you know what I would wish for first. My second would be that The Dodgers come back to Brooklyn

Merry Christmas and when you are up in these part of the woods I would like to shake your hand. Have a Happy and healthy holiday to all of you.

I had better watch my intake of those delicous cookies otherwise I will have to buy larger trousers. Thanks to both of you for asking.

Jody,I have never personally met you except for our communications on the net, telephone or maybe quite possibly, a glancing look as Felix Chalero spit in the can. But being a great judge of character (Smileys a charactor isn't he? then theres Tony Davis! Anyone who has the great sense of judgement to be and remain a true Dodger fan has to be high on my list.

Thank you Joe, Felix Chalero (bless his soul) could "spit" across the store through both sides of his mouth, I recall how he would wear the same wool sweater ever time I went to visit him and the crumbs from his sandwich were stuck to his well worn sweater. He was Fender's first ever
dealer in New England. The sound of the "spit" hitting the spitoon was unique and he made an an art of it. Those were the days and they are no more, I wished I could turn the clock back to those glorious years when I was Fender salesman and the Dodgers were still in Brooklyn where they so rightfully belong. Joe, Thank you for your recent effort on my behalf as well as Sandy Miller's.We both appreciate it.

This is a tough time of year for me as I lost my mate of 50 years on November 14th 2004 and someone dear to me on November 12 1952.
December 1 marks the anniversary of my Mom and Dad's passing, they both passed within minutes of one another, my dad passed December 1 at 12:19 am 1986 and my Mom passed on December 1 at 12:20 am. I sure miss them. If I had one wish, it would be to sit in with Johnny, Augie, and George for a jam, if there is really a place called heaven
I know they are waiting for me.Hey fella's wait fer me.

Thank you kind friend. A Dodger Fan Has Spoken from the heart. Edited to say Thanks to all of you I call friend on this Forum, Merry Christmas to our Christian friends and a Happy Chanukah to our Jewish friends all over the world. Thank you. DODGER BLUE FOREVER.*** And God be with all of you, my family and my friends.Long Post eh? what else is new.

Joe, I could write a book on Smiley and Tony. but it would take a loooong time.Anyone who can wear his underwear on the outside of his trousers is something else

My Thanks to the Great Bobby Caldwell for helping me at the ISGC and keeping my guitar in tune, and especially to my daughter Lorrie for writing such a beautiful peom for me, and to Marie and Han's Greg and Carl. And to my granddaughter Casey who recently helped me a great deal.If those of you who are chosen to be inducted into the steel guitar HOF be certain that when they mold your plaque, they make your nose smaller.
See Ya'll next year, I hope. Thank You
Dave Van Allen, for all you have done.I'll never forget you ever.
