Buddy Cage's equipment was stolen last night after a gig in N.Y. His guitar and amp set-up were his sole means of support. He was going to cancel his gigs. I am coordinating an equipment relief effort for him. I'll be damned as a steel player before I see Buddy Cage have his livelyhood destroyed. Buddy is not rich. He has made his life by playing steel and now he needs help. I am looking for 40 people to contribute $50.00. I have someone who is willing to contribute a Mullen double neck, a Nashville 400, a 120 volume pedal and possibly a seat for $2000.00
I think this is fair. If you can contribute any cords, strings, a seat, money, anything please email me. I am trying to get this equipment together for him and I will personally drive it down to NYC from here in Buffalo, N.Y. I was a staff writer for Steel Guitar World for eight years. I will coordinate this effort. Please help. My phone number is 716-691-7505. You can also email me. Thank you all.

Wayne, my address is posted above, and I just emailed it to you. So far, I have pledges for cables, picks, bar, volume pedal, seat, and about $150.00. I am trying to raise enough to get Buddy this double neck Mullen and Nashville 400. Both are in excellent condition for $2,000, unless someone will donate a better deal.

Many years ago I had my Mastertone banjo and Martin guitar stolen in NYC. Within two days someone spotted my guitar in a pawn shop on 8th ave. The cops came, traced the ticket and found the banjo at another place.
Buddy's steel is unique.
If the community knows it is missing, they will probably find it.

I am making a list of all contributors. If Buddy's equipment is found before I can get
him new equipment. I will return all donations. My main effort here is to get Buddy on stage again as soon as possible. It may be six months or never before police can find his equipment. He has no other means of support and is broken hearted over this.

This is really weak and I acknowledge it up front but Buddy--if you're reading this--right here and now my old BMI S-10 3+4 and my 70's Vibrosonic Reverb are yours to use. Contact me and you can consider it done.

Great idea. I am mailing Buddy a check for $100. I posted a similar site on Extended Family to cover any over flow. Buddy has done so much for pedal steel and we don't forget. Good luck.

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but you may want to look into that Vibrosonic that Jon Light is offering.

I don't think Buddy and Peavey mix too well...

Buddy, I have a Peavey Session 400 you can borrow for as long as it takes for you to get set up again. Or an old Peavey Vintage (tube amp)that's yours to keep.
I'm relatively local and willing to take a ride in to the city to get it to you.

The vintage gets the sound I think your looking for once the tubes heat up.

Guys, I'm sure Buddy can use the cash, but the effort here is for me to raise enough money to buy a replacement guitar for him in excellent condition. I've spoken with Buddy about the Mullen and the 400 and he wants them. Its going to be about $2,000.00. If I get by passed it will only take longer. Please send your donation to me so I can coordinate. I have about four hundred in pledges so far.

Count me in for $100. Check on the way to Kevin.

It's the least I can do for all the pleasure Buddy's playing has brought me through the years.
