Just bought a new Yamaha Roadstar Warrior 1700cc. Black Cherry with Black flames. Was riding a 1983 Yamaha Venture. Big difference. My wife rides a Kawasaki 454LTD. ------------------ |

A few Biker/Steeler Forum members are meeting for breakfast Sunday morning around 9:00 at the Loveless Cafe`. By all means come show off your iron if you are in the area. It is at the north end of the Natchez Trace a few miles west of Nashville. See you there. ------------------ |

Yes indeed, the Cafe` Ride was once again a smashing sucess! Lots of motorcycles! And hundreds of Steeler/Bikers showed up! Okay, Okay, there were two. Hey wait a minute, these are the same two characters that showed up at the last Cafe` Ride! We need to get more involvement from some of the other forumites. Fire those bikes up, get them on down here for the next one! ------------------ [This message was edited by John Drury on 31 July 2005 at 01:55 PM.] |

Damir, Yes, those big K-Bikes are nice, but BMW dealers talk prices so high a dog can't hear them! Lets do the Carthage ride next Sunday if you and Bobster are up for it. I have a friend coming down from MI on his Concours and he said he would like to go. ------------------ |

John, come on down! Just don't ride at night in Mexico, you never know what's going to be in the middle of the road; mopeds with no taillights, horse-drawn wagon (again no taillights), burros, horses (tails, but no taillights) people or whatever. lol! |

I`m siting here at the computer desk and looking thru my window at the beautiful sunny day.I think I`m going to take my Kawa out for a spin and take a chanse. btw. WARNING TO ALL IN THE MARKET FOR A NEW BIKE DO NOT buy a new bike...I bought a brand new ZZR 1200 couple months ago,it was $12.000 bike, went yesterday to Sloans for a service and looking at the possibility to trade for a touring bike. Was offered $7.500 for my Kawa.So to get a new Concourse that is priced at $8.500 they asked me to put $1.600 cash on the top of my trade. So I`m giving $12.000 bike + $1.600 cash for a $8.500 bike???They showed me a Blue Book value for my bike..trade in value $5.000 and some change??? $5.000 for a $12.000 bike with 1057 miles???Thats crazy...so my advice would be DO NOT buy a new bike, you will lose your a$$ of, go to the Ebay and get a used 1-2 years old bike for 50% of the price. Same thing with a new car or truck. You don't even need 1057 miles on it, just buy it and drive it off the lot. It's now a used vehicle and you lose $$$. |

Well I guess I am returned to being a biker. Been riding a Honda Steed for the last 2 months as the only mode of transport on the island. The thing is darned comfortable for lower back and dodgy neck disc, No need for much more here. Koh Samui IS the motorcycle accident capital of ther world. The budhist, living in the moment, driving style is incomprehensible for most westerners. But a car is not terribly practical with the traffic, |

LOL, D.W., you crack me up! No one has called me Light Weight in a LONG time... BUT I just lost 14 kilos in the last 2 months!! June 5 to Aug 5. That's around 30 lbs for you non metric types. I eat much better in Thailand, good food, and less things bad for me. Feeling much better, but still like the big bike more. Yeah there are NEVER too many ladies! An English friend down here has a bike shop and I can rent what ever I like. Last month I had the Steed mostly, comfort, enough power, and a cool look, And a Transalp 400 trials type bike. I liked it but it was way too tall for my legs. There is a serious 1300cc Honda, basicaly right of the race track, that I have been meaning to take for a day or two, but only when it hasn't rained in a while, too much sand after rains here. I never heard anything bad about the Gold Wing bikes. This one is brand new and it comes with 6 years warranty on everything.Rides great and handles great,I was suprrised, expecting it to be more clumsie and slow but this bike is fast and very quick in curves. My butt still hurts from this morning ride on ZZR,it was a great bike but not for me.If I was younger and slimer and in need for a chick magnet ZZR would be a perfect choice, but for me right now I think this is much more better way to go and it hurts less.I guess we don`t get any younger with time.
