Farris, how about a Black Phoenix in the shape of the shuttle? Hard to hold on to, but so is the real thing....

Do you think his favorite steel CD is Tommy Hannum's "It's Not Rocket Science"?

Wouldn't it be nice if one of the Steel Guitar MFGs stepped forward and presented him with a Steel Guitar? And we could all contribute in some manner. If all members were in for $5 bucks apiece that would make a pretty good custom Guitar.

"I guess steel players cover all kinds job professions so I am not surprised one would be an astronaut. Who knows, maybe one day one of us might be the President of the United States."

My steel playing doesn't qualify me for an Astronaut, or President.
Wishing you a safe return Steve, were proud of you.

Joe and Farris -------------What a great idea -anyone who does what he is doing for our country deserves something.....
$5.00 -Ha Chicken Feed ---I'd be glad to contribute.
The steel would have look nice with an airbrushed picture of the shuttle on the front.

$5 times 5000, $25,000; yes, I'm sure you could get a 'pretty nice' steel for that, including airbrushing by the automitive artist of your choice, with money left over for fenders and a motor.

But seriously, what do you buy for a guy who already has the prettiest Marlen 'Spirit' I've ever seen?

I think this is 'gilding the lily....'

How about $1 apiece, tickets to the next big steel show and really nice hotel rooms?
(I have my doubts about gifting to a great and humble man.)

I just watched the safe return from space with no doubt all of you here. Way to go Steve and the whole crew! Sounds like a mission you might want to unwind with a little steel guitar to me.

Welcome home, Dr. Robinson! You are truly a hero, and a top-notch guy! How cool that you play my favorite instrument, too.

In case you guys missed it, check out Steve Robinson's Podcast from space!

Hi Steve, glad you are home safe and glad the mission was a huge success. I tried to call you and tell you to leave that Dale Mullin CD out there for our friends in outer space. Sure they would have loved the sound of steel, but you know cell phones,,guess you had no reception.

Take care

Well, you see, I couldn't have found the "Spirit Steel" a better home. Actually, NO ONE OWNS the "Spirit Steel". It chooses who it's next keeper will be, and it chose Steve! ahh haa!!
Hope you enjoy that beautiful Marlen as much as I did, Steve! Welcome home! James Morehead
