Roger,
how could you ever part with that one, if I had one of Buddy´s I would treasure it...
Do you recall how it was set up? I´m almost sure it already had eight pedals, did it? Were there any knee levers, if so, in what position/s and what did they do? My guess would be one lowered both E´s to Eb and the other one lowered the 2nd string a whole tone. Or was there something else? Always really curious to find out about those things.

Regards, JH

Joe.. I've regretted selling that steel a few times, but was needing something more dependable. It was pretty worn mechanically.I bought it from Tom Kiley(a huge Charlton fan) and my teacher. Tom sent it back to Sho-Bud and had it refinished and maybe a change or two and took it on the road with Roy Drusky.
It had 3 knee levers, a couple of them real crude. Funny, I ran across them in a box this week. My dad and I made a couple of knee levers like the nice one(same as on more recent Sho-Buds)and installed them.
Best I recall knee levers were something like this. Remember, this was early sixties.
LKL raised E to F
RKL lowered both E to Eb also C to B on C neck
RKR lowered 2nd I think a whole tone
I still use this configuration along with everything else. One day maybe I'll get around to posting some pictures of it.
