I'll get in here just a little to tell you that Bruce builds between 45 and 50 guitars a year. This is not hearsay but fact. Trust me, it takes quite a bit of self discipline to stay at it as hard as he does to produce that number. There are several steel shows he would like to make, but he holds himself to a schedule so he can deliver guitars on time. I personally think he should take off more and go fishing.

Randy. I agree with you 100%!!

So let me see if I got this right. You want a ZumSteel, but you don't want to wait long?

Okay, I don't usually make offers on these guitars here on the Forum, but I'll make an exception this time to see who's serious about wanting a ZumSteel, and who just wants to complain about it.

How's this? You can have a "brand new" 2004 ZumSteel SD-10 or D-10 with your set up in about 3 to 4 weeks. If you don't already have an order with Bruce now, but you are ready to buy a new ZumSteel right now, then email or call me. SERIOUS INQURIES ONLY.
989-539-4715. One time offer only. This will be for 1 SD 10 and 1 D-10. First come, first serve.

Okay. The SD-10 is spoken for, so one left now. D-10, with your set up, choice of color and front apron design if wanted. 3 to 4 week delivery. Can you wait that long? Remember, this is a first come first serve offer, and the conditions are you don't already have one on order now.

Whatcha think Farris? This ought to make some lucky guy a very happy camper wanting a new ZumSteel ey? :-)

I have known BRUCE for over 20 years and I have owned several brands of steels over a 30+ year career. In spite of the fact that some of the other steels were very high quality, BRUCE is the only manufacturer who ever built a custom-made steel for me that did not require any adjustment when I unpacked it! I picked it up at the bus station,on the way to the job, and played it that very night! He is also a fine fellow to do business with. Just had to put in my 2 cents worth.

I owned a stage one Zum in 1981 It had 3 pedals and 3 Knee levers. Bruce put the 4th Knee lever on it and he was very polite the first time i met him. Then in 1983 I bought a Universal from Bruce , He was very polite and done business quick back then it took about 6 months to get it and it was more than worth the Weight,
Then again in 2000 I bought a Double 10 from Bruce with a lot of extras on it. Bruce is a very much a Profectionest Each time i bought the steels from Him i went to his house in Harrisonville Missouri. Bruce had all the guitars set up and ready to play When i got there. He was very nice in his business and new what he was doing. But Bruce is also a very good Humanitarian. When i ordered the Double neck in 2000 , Sam i was fighting lung cancer myself. Bruce told me it would be a year before i could get the steel. But i went ahead and ordered it. Bruce worked mine in and it was done in April that year, cause i was only suppose to have 3 to 6 months to live. But i passed that. But i still have ,the now 20 year old Universal and the Double neck and they play just like i bought them yesterday. And if i want a change or something else on my steel it is as close as a Phone call to Bruce. I don't have to deal with a factory and go through a hundered people to get it done. If i want to make a change i call bruce and he will send me the parts and i can do it myself or I can take it to him and he will interupt his work to do it for me. Bruce is as close to an angel for me as i can get, for his work. When you buy a Zum you aint buying a asembly line machine you are buying a quality built guitar .

I talked to a very well known steel player sat night at Ronnie's steel show in Hot Springs. He was playin a Zum. I asked him, I thought you were an Emmons man? He said well, I still like Emmons, but when I got my Zum I sit down and played it for a while, then went to my emmons, and I couldn't play it. I couldn't mash the pedals. He said the Zum was so much easier to play.
Got me to wantin a Zum.

GOSH,i can't top all this stuff you guys have said!!i had bruce to build me a univarsal 12 in 1984.i think it was about 6mos.back then.i played it for yrs.no problems at all.i've always been kindda sho-buddish so i sold it to a man that had no legs.i changed it over to all knee pedals for him, worked great, but he finally gave up,and i got it back.well i have another friend who bought it,and again here we go,all the parts in a box.we called bruce several times getting things and info.most companies after 20yrs.would said go fly a kite.not bruce, now guitar is back all original, thanks to BRUCE!!!BRUCE HE D MAN!!

I was a ShoBud die hard for 25 years and had an opportunity to get a great deal on a 2001 Zum. So I bought it. The precision of the machinery as well as the tone and touch is awesome. I am thrilled every time I sit down.

Hey Ron
Good to see you hanging around. Hope you are doing well. Are you going to any steel shows in the near future?

Wayne
