Keeping the keyhead dust-free, the way I do it, involves a small 1" paintbrush dedicated to the task, with a blast of compressed air from the compressor. If spots appear, like from persperation or beer, they come off when I next change strings.

I don't like light colors like white or baby blue, and I don't like fake wood grain. My favorites are real wood grain with clear or any color of stained lacquer. Red or black guitars always look good. The two-tone Zums are beautiful, if you have to have a formica finish. My Zum is red and black, and the best looking formica guitar I have ever seen. You can see it and lots more here: http://www.steelin4fun.com/mugshots.htm

My ZB is 2-tone: blond apron/faded grey cabinet (once green or blue). But my favorite would be an old sunburst finish. I think this is because I learned music on a sunburst guitar: my Dad's 1961 Gibson Melody Maker.

Marrs has beautiful examples of some sunburst refinished steels pictured on their site.
