I will hit the big Five-Oh in mid-December. I'm even throwing myself a party (with several baby boomer friends). Oh, and I'm definitely below average, in so many ways.

It would be neat to know what the total is if you added all the forumites ages squared. Then get the mean. What would it be if you were then to take the square root of this number?

Forumites Age RMS?

Let's see... My hair color says about 62, my (lack of) wrinkles say 32 tops, but my driver's licence says 47. Then again, my playing abilities say more like 15

I was above average during the great years from 1969-1971, then below average for the rest of the 70s, then average in the 80s until i became above average in '86 by escaping Bemidji, Minnesota, and moving to Phoenix, where i just get more and more above average all the time.

I'm 385 in dog years. (Also known as Hillary years.)

I will be 53 next year. Somedays I feel that old, but then I sit down and play a half hour and feel 20 again. Therapy.
This forum is another means of therapy.
Who would have thought you would ever get this many Steel players together?
What would we do without it?
Merry Christmas Bob and everybody!!!

Just got my steel via this forum! (Thanks, Bob Knight) so have been at it just a few weeks. Having a ball so far --- never will make it in a band, but I hope to be able to play along with my BIAB program on the computer.

Something to think about .. --- where are all the younger generation players -- who is going to carry on playing these fine instruments?

I told him that I did not care what color . . . (my hair). . . turned, so long as it did not turn loose.

I used to get this sort of thing from my high school students whenever one of them mistook my thinning hair for baldness.

My response, "Humph, I hope you have this much hair when you have this many years,"
was a much a curse as anything else, but they never got it, bless their hearts!

BTW, 62.
