Hal,

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Many of the great records you played on and your instrumental CD's have given me much pleasure over the years.

I'm passing this along to a friend who doesn't play steel but has purchased and enjoyed your CD's. I think his connections with the Man Upstairs will help us all get through this. You're not alone.

Hal Rugg was the the first big name player that I remember visiting with about 25 years ago in St Louis. I have never forgotten how approachable and accomadating he was to me, a complete stranger.

Carolyn and I remember you in our prayers.

Hal, your definately one of my heros and have been for well over three decades. My prayers and warmest regards go out to you.

Next time you're near upstate NY I'll take you bass-fishing on the Mohawk River if you like. The boat launch is only five minutes from the house.

Hi Hal, We are so sorry to hear of your bad news. Tucson University has a wonderful oncology center so we feel that you are in a good place for whatever treatment is required. People from all over the state are sent there. We used to have to drive down from Northern Arizona and stay in an appartment with Jim's folks. We will be praying for you and please know that you will be in good hands with modern equipment and great doctors. We will be anxious to see and hear you again real soon. Sincerely, Jim & LaRue Boyle

I am closing this because it is about to exceed three pages. That causes problems for some members.

I opened a Part Two at http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum14/HTML/001631.html

Please continue to wish Hal well there.
