So, So, So sad news! I think Ed was much more of a humanitarian than most people realized. I didn't know him personally but had spoken to him on the phone and through this forum. I think this world has lost a GOOD man! |

Ed was a great important member of our steel guitar community.I can't believe it! He had medical problems but he seemed to be able to handle it real well. I just talked to him on the phone recently. I am so sorry about this. Ed was one of the good guys. He helped me a lot getting my Sho-Bud Pro 1 up to 6 pedals and 5 knee levers. He was always so helpful to steel guitar players and a great booster of steel guitar. I talked to him many times on the phone and he was always upbeat. God bless his soul....al ------------------ My Website..... www.cmedic.net/~almarcus/ [This message was edited by Al Marcus on 19 February 2005 at 08:12 AM.]

I just spoke to him by phone last Wednesday about an order. He seemed like he was coping well, but it was challenging. This knowledgable gentleman will be missed. Even though I just met him last December, he always treated me like an old friend. We will keep his family in our prayers.------------------ Mike Barone Sho-Bud Pro-1 |

I'm stunned. I just spoke with Ed recently myself. Ed had called me on the phone just to check on me and to see how I was feeling after all of my health issues. Ed really cared about people and animals. I will miss Ed. He always seemed to have the Right part for the job, and many times never even charged me a dime. Ed was a true friend. He's showing someone in heaven something new for the steel guitar. Rest easy Ed. Your friend, Kurt |

I'd like to send my condolences to Ed’s Family. He also called me last week to discuss the T–10 Non-Pedal that he was building for me! I met Ed back quite a few years ago, when he had his Steel Guitar Works in Millersville, near Nashville. He was a good man and will be missed! John Bechtel Nashvile, TN |

Ed Nayler, I met Ed a couple of times, and spent some time talking, always ended up talking about animals, and that people should try to help the ones that needed help, He was a gracious and caring person and loved the steel guitar and the steel community. I made some purchases from him and he was alway up front with me. I've enjoyed his post on the forum,,he was a bullsh***r, and I always enjoyed that part also. My thoughts and prayers go to his family, he will be sadly missed.Go rest high on that mountain, Mr. Ed Wayne |

Like many of you, I am stunned by the sad news of Ed's passing. I talked to him on the phone many times as he helped be with some parts. He was always talking about the latest Dog that he had found and nursed back to health and found a home for. He was truely one of the "Good Guys". My prayers go out to his family and all of his many friends. Peace be with you Ed. David |

I'm sorry to hear this sad news. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends.I didn't really know Ed and I didn't have dealings with him. I only knew him from his threads that were often unique. He always took my humor in stride when he had every right to do just the opposite. But he NEVER did. This was his character, a gentle man who would only help and never hurt in any way people or animals less fortunate than him, or more fortunate than him. I'll miss his threads. They were special, as was he. [This message was edited by HowardR on 19 February 2005 at 01:48 PM.] |

RIP Ed. It's really typical of Ed, when you read the post that Lem linked to above, that he cared so much for his fellow man. In that post he mentions his health problems briefly, but his main message is directed to the well being of others (US!). I wish the Naylor family much strength and peace. Joey |

As with many of you, I never had the privilage of meeting or corresponding with Ed Naylor. Apparently he was an excellent craftsman when it came to making steel guitars. It's always very sad to lose someone associated with the steel guitar (either playing or making)...Ed excelled at doing both from all accounts I heard...My sincerest sympathy and condolances are extended to his family and to all his close friends, in particular to those of us who enjoyed reading his interesting and very informative threads on this Forum. |

I bought my first D-10 Sho-Bud from Ed in 84. A couple of years ago I needed parts to rework an old Pro-II and got everything I needed from Ed. I've known Ed for a long time and had many conversations with him. I hadn't talked to him in a while and never knew he was ill. So sorry to hear of this. |

I wasn't fortunate enough to have met Ed personally but he was part of our steel guitar community and he'll sure be sorely missed. You could tell from his posts that he had not only a giving heart but a servants heart in every sense of the word. May God give his family peace as they grieve the loss of their loved one.Rick |
