Hi Bill,

I wish I couyld get down there for your October Show but we are busy back in school.

Yes, Tyler Alias "The Kid" done a super job here at Marshfield on July 1st. I have heard alot of praise about his playing. Everyone here was smitten with him. I have it on video if we can ever get it mixed down. I'll be sure you get to hear and see it. He done a super job!

I hope he don't eat too many bugs though!

Terry,
Great to hear from you!! We will attempt to keep the "KID" under control. We may need Miss Lana's help with him. Don't think he has seen anything like the ISG Convention. He can handle the "BUGS".

All "GANG" members be on the "Look Out" for "THE KID". He and his new Black Emmons have disappeared. An APB is out on "THE KID". Any sightings should be posted here. I've heard he may be in Missouri or Texas. He might even be down in Mexico!!

Bill - see what happens when you turn your head?

APB Reads: Look out for young male with black steel strapped on his back. Goes be 'The Kid'. Most likely hanging around clubs, steel guitar shows, and legendary musicians. Approach with CAUTION!! Weapon of choice - picks and bars.

Hope this helps!

Hey folks,I'm sure the Kid's okay. He just stepped off a Fessy' onto an Emmons. I feel sure he is so caught up in the tone that he can't let go! Sign me up for the seminar on the 14th. Looking forward to a good time.
THE RUMOR IS : TYLER NOW HAS TONE!! HA!HA!

Well, "the Kid" called me last week while playing his "Black Emmons". I'll tell you what, he definitely has tone. He sounded better over the phone than I do playing in my dreams. Yep, I bet he sounds better than good at the jam!

Tim, What's up with "THE KID". Is he practicing 24X7 on that new Black Emmons LL III? We all need to pray for Ted Crabtree and his family. He has been a great ambassador for our instrument in the State for many years. If you live in the area please pay a short visit as I am sure Ted and his family will appreciate it.

Bill, I have my concerns as well. I also know for a fact, he has a new regular gig in the B'ham area. He's been real quiet. I also know for a fact, he's having a record number of KL's added to the Black LL III.

Tyler, are you out there anywhere?

Do you mean that "THE KID" now has acquired a "KID CLUSTER" ???? YOU KNOW HIS TUNING IS UNORTHODOX TO BEGIN WITH. What is he going to do with all those Levers?? By the way, Where is "THE KID" ?? We have had no results on his APB. I heard that he was in Texas and then heard that he was sighted in Missouri!!! Where is The Boy?? May have to get our "FIRST LADY" Miss Laney on his trail. What do you think??

Yep, this is a job for Laney!!

I FOUND "THE KID" !!!!!!!!!. "THE KID" checked in last night via pay telephone, (collect of course). "THE KID" runs escourts for oversize loads and has been putting in miles. Has let his computer internet run out. Plays in the Bessemer area on weekends and does pick a Black Emmons LLG III. The "KID" played at Ted Crabtree's funeral yesterday. Said it was the highest honor he had ever recieved. So!! "THE KID" is still with us and will be at the OCT. 14 Jam in the Magic City.

"GANG" Tim Bridges has worked very hard to sponsor our Jam on Saturday the 14th. Our "FIRST LADY" Laney Hicks will be performing a "Special" concert at 5.00. Her hubby, Russell, (RUSS) will be teaching a seminar starting at 9.00 till 11.00. The Jam will start shortly after Russ's seminar. We all need to attend if at all possible. Russ and Laney are doing this for US. Lets all show our appreciation by attending , enjoying the atmosphere, the music and each other on Saturday. Please make your plans to attend.

October 14th and 15th were very good for the ASGA. We were truly Blessed. Thanks to Tim Bridges who put the Jam together. He had all the basses covered. Good location, good pickers, good sound, good bands, good back up bands. Good every thing. Thanks to "Bishop Bill" Simmons for all his hard work also. The day started with a two hour seminar with Russ Hicks. Russ gave us some good instruction, even for very poor players like myself. If you ever have an opportunity to attend one of Russ's seminars, by all means make it. It was the best $30.00 I have ever spent concerning steel. After the seminar Tim started the Jam. The Rocky Ridge Deli and Market was an excellent venue. The owners and employees laid out the red carpet for us.They were very accomadating to all our needs. The "COOK" also packs some pretty mean Vocals to boot. All the players did a , to quote Don Lynch, "SUPER GOOD JOB". Rob Parker not only sang with almost all the players, he picked and sang a set himself. He was a crowd pleaser all day. We were very happy to meet some new players from North Alabama and get to talk and mingle with them. Jeremy Drawbaugh is a name you are going to hear and hear often. He is the real deal. Thanks for attending and picking Jeremy. Sorry your Dad was not yet feeling up to attending. Hope ypou get well soon Bob. We missed you. Laney closed out the show with a concert of beautiful country songs. Tyler Hall, A/K/A "THE KID", Jeremy D. Chuck Campbell, Bishop Bill Simmons all played a song with Laney. The "KID" almost had the crowd crying with his tear jerking style. After the show it was off to the Bar-B Que joint for dinner. Good food and good fellowship there. Sunday morning was history in the making. Brother Bryan Knox allowed Russ and Laney to present their first music ministry. Several members of the Alabama Gang were there to support Laney in her effort. She and Russ were great. What a beautiful way to end a great weekend by having Russ and Laney participate in a Church Service. Brother Bryan must have been impressed as he Preached a good one. Thanks to Tim, Bill Rob, Russ, Laney, Ernie Cawby and his family, and all who played a part in this great weekend. If I left anyone out, and I am sure I did, it is not intentional. To Top it all off, Saturday was my Birthday. It was by far, the best Birthday I have ever had, bar none. Thank you ALABAMA GANG, for making my Birthday so special.
