It has been brought to my attention that Bobbe Seymour is offering (in the other guitars section of his web site) an EMCI guitar he claims he purchased from me in the late nineties. The only guitar I’ve ever played that had a black and red Formica finish now sits in the music room of Don Everly, and it’s an MCI, not an EMCI.

I see there is a Dekley for sale as well....

quote:
There are many brands of guitars that I won't handle for one reason or another. This is a guitar I'm always happy to sell and stand behind.

I was told just the opposite when I called a few years ago to inquire about parts for my newly acquired Dekley.....

Maybe he has seen the light I loved that Dekley and wished I had never sold it....anyone looking for a great price on a great steel would do well to take the Dekley Bobbe has off of his hands. Same goes for the EMCI....another guitar that seems to go for way less than it is worth.

An even more interesting scenario is the triple neck Gibson on Ebay that the owner claims you (BE) installed a pull mechansim. Any comment???

Sorry Buddy, There must have been several guitars that were made in this time frame that were of this configuration. The one I bought from you I sold to Gary Hogue soon after. I was under the impression this was the guitar.(however, I've received several e-mails from other players saying that they now owned this very guitar, Wow!) Yes there were several guitars made this color. All sounded great and played great. I'm very disappointed that this great brand of guitar isn't being manufactured any longer. I really thought you sounded great on MCI guitars Buddy, but then I thought you sounded great on the Bigsby also.
Best wishes to you and Peggy, we all send our very best.
With much respect,
Bobbe Seymour

By the way Buddy, did you ever pay the thirty dollar pledge you made to the Jerry Lewis Telethon in 1978? It was supposed to be in "my memory" you know.

I actually found out this was one of the famous "Shot Jackson" pranks, so I don't feel you should have to pay, for a few more years anyway.

I played that Dekley and called a friend in Paris to see if he wanted me to bring it home.
But even at this great price he couldn't swing it.
To bad it's a nice lil S-12

It needs a bit of cleaning, being fresh in the door, but played pretty good anyway.
Better than I play a 12 string at least.
If I hadn't been on the roadtrip I might have grabbed it myself from here.

I also tried that Red Fessie, which I still want badly.

Hey Robert, Believe it or not I have seen MSA guitars for sale on Bobbe's website. I think he will sell just about any brand even though he may not like some as well as other brands. He is in the business to help steel players but to make money as well.

MSAs? I have two double necks in questionable condition in stock right now. You guys think my prices aren't low enough? How about I'll take $800.00 for the both of them! One playable, the other is restorable or a great parts bin. These guitars have to be worth over two grand in parts alone. I'm just out of the parts biz.

And Buddy, thanks for the publicity, things had started to slow down here. By the way, I sold the EMCI to a young player in Idaho that says he didn't know who you were,he just saw this discussion on this forum, e-mailed me and gave me his credit card number, guess I need to send you a commision?

Now, as far as returning e-mails, I'm out of town a lot and have office help doing much of the answering. Also we get over 500 e-mails/orders a day, not counting spams, in the process of deleteing the spams, we inadvertantly once in a while lose an order or an e-mail. And then there are some that just don't get answered, but not on purpose.
I don't know about Keith Hilton, but I do know that he has to be extremely busy, his products are selling better than about everything else I sell. Any problem with service on his products will be a very temporary problem.
Roger Retig, I'm having trouble trying to figure out what your problem is, call me if you have one.
Everyone else, thank you for your patronage, support and friendship. I'll always do the best I can for the steel guitar community.

I also would like to thank my over worked staff for doing the quality job they do for the pressure they are under.
