I'm going to (way!) digress for a bit.

I don't know who those two Duck Pluckers are, though they are obviously twins. And I don't know whether or not they were just asked to scowl at the camera for the sake of making a novel photograph, or what. But to me they look laden with a load of dejection--maybe just because they were born ugly ducklings.

At first, I looked at their photo with bemusement, because they seem so... well... freakish. But the downtrodden and grizzled expression on both of their faces belies pain, not mirth. So, I honestly feel badly for those guys, whether their IQ is 68 or 168.

Sorry to be a wet towel. Back to the fun now, I guess.

It is very difficult to know what is on their minds.

Bill,
At the risk of sounding somewhat diplomatic, I think I can understand and appreciate your feelings and sensitivities, and I honestly respect them, but I live in New York city where just about every day I see people who look laden with a look of dejection or who have downtrodden grizzled expressions on their faces, and yet somehow I never let that deprive me of my overall(no pun intended) sense of humor. I suppose that beauty and humor are ultimately in the eye of the beholder.

Best wishes,Mike S

Mike, that picture shows a wider view of Elvira's kitchen, and it doesn't look too appealing... the dirty dishes, messy table, clutter, etc. Looks like Elvira lives in a trailer. Nothing wrong with that, but it must get crowded in there with the two guys and all.

Looks like Elvira is suffering from Downs Syndrome, and I bet she's pretty proud of her little home.

PS - I usually can't stand "political correctness", but there's a difference between laughing with people and laughing at them. Especially when all they've done is being born with one chromosone too many..

The effect of a photo on different people's brains is interesting; there's something about these guys that makes me smile inside.
Chances are they've got good jobs and have a satisfying life.
I don't know; they just look happy together.

I looked a long time at the tiny guitar until I saw that it was digitaly inserted.
Maybe I'm as slow as they look.

And Elvira? That's not Downs, she's just permanently down!

Doug, youre right by Gosh!Elvira does live in a trailer and it certainly does get a wee bit crowded in there what with junior and the boys and all, but she doesnt mind a bit. She's always been able to maintain her lustrous sparkle regardless of what the circumstances are. Why just this weekend I was visiting her, and she baked some of the best lard cookies this side of Winnemucca!

...it is admittedly a bit cramped in the old trailer, but when things get too crowded, Elvira often retreats to the spacious comforts of the backyard...

Jim,as everyone knows, Molly and Elvira are in the same bowling league together. They go way back. This photo was taken many years ago when Elvira was in her heyday. That's Elvira on the left holding the black ball.

Doug,

With all the money the pluckers make on their tour, the'll be able to purchase two "acres" in the country. It appears as though Elvira could use a wider spread.

Jim… first we need to hold a "name the Duck Pluckers" contest! These guys need names.

The guys just picked up this cool Strat at a yard sale. It needs a little work, but they hope to have it ready by the fall tour. It was only $450.00 Thank goodness Elvira had her credit card, so she could get the cash from the bank. The Duck Pluckers know a deal when the see it!

Elvira’s brother Jeb wants to do Sound for the band. He’s really got a good set of ears.

Jeb is a wannabe guitar player. His hero has always been the one and only Gary Moore!

Here is a song from a 12 CDs box set titled "300 No. 1 Hits Of The Duck Pluckers", regrettably out of print:

Now how many peppers did Peter Piper pick
To git himself a peck of pickled peppers

But more importantly

How many pickles do you git in a peck
When you can't find no peppers to pick

And furthermore

Who wants a pickle that's made from a pepper
By a guy named Peter Piper

And in conclusion

How many Pipers do ya know that pick pickles
And how many Peters are pickled

Well I don't know and I don't care
Go away and leave me alone
I don't know and I don't care
He don't know and he don't care bout nothin'

Now how many ducks could a Duck Plucker pluck
If the Duck Plucker plucked until dark

And more importantly

How many plucks would it take on a duck
Till the Plucker got Duck Pluckers Arm

And furthermore

If the Duck Plucker died whilst pluckin' the duck
Would you call it the fault of the duck

Or think now

Would you say that the Plucker had run outta ducks
And they called it Duck Pluckers Luck

Well I don't know and I don't care...

Now how much wood could a woodpecker peck
Whilst Peter was a pickin' them peppers
And what if the pluckor became the pluckee
And the woodpeckers name was Chuck

I don't know and I don't care...

You boys got any idea how we gonna git outta this
We don't know don't know huh
We don't care yeah I know ya don't care neither that's good

Cousin Melvin (like so many others) enjoys dancing at home to the sounds of the Duck Pluckers' latest CD.

Little Elmer here also grooves to the funky beat of the Duck Pluckers.
